Edwina
A Snippet in Time
“There is no time like the present. And there is no present like ‘now’. What a gift it is to be aware of the moment you are in and being totally saturated with it. Complete immersion! No past. No future. Not even a milli-second of variation outside of the immediate. Can I truly live there? If I find that place how long can I stay? Does the strength of my will and determination measure my length of stay? Will I be comfortable? Can I bring my pillow? Hmmmmm …
Maybe the NOW is what I’ve always been looking for and what I’ve been hoping to find. Maybe the NOW is where the answers to my questions lay hidden. I’m pretty sure I’ve visited there before so I must have the key … maybe the door isn’t even locked. Maybe the door is open and I only think it’s closed because I’m not used to what it (being open) looks like. Have you seen pictures? Maybe I’ll look now …”
- Charlotte Edwina de La Fontaine written 10/27/2009 for a blogpost
And, to travel much further back in time, here’s a wee piece from a poetry book I wrote (channeled, actually, the night before it was due), illustrated and constructed for a High School Creative Writing class I had, when I was a Junior, in December of 1975! The graphic for this one was a cut-out of Winnie-the-Pooh taken (I imagine) from a magazine.
“You - are yourself - which you - hope - to be - but cannot - seem - to - find.”
- Charlotte Edwina Beadle (maiden name - I had just turned 17)
Diving into imagination in search of Truth, the Mysteries of Life and the Original Self has been a passion of mine since childhood … apparently.
May your puzzle ever become more easy to assemble. Blessings on your discovery.
